Welcome to Leros


Leros is a pearl in the Aegean sea and the island of Artemis. There are beautiful sandy or pebbly beaches, ideal for swimming or for water sports. Architecture varies from the Byzantine style to the Western European style or a mixture of both

Points of interest:

  • Stay in a traditional mansion
  • Visit Bourtzi, a Roman fortress
  • Swim at Vromolithos Cove, a beach that is both sandy and pebbly
  • Alinta beach: ideal for watersports like water skiing, canoeing, and windsurfing
  • 5.Xirokampos: proper for scuba diving and freediving
  • Visit the Archaeological Museum
  • Belleni’s tower: the Folk Art and History Museum of Leros
  • War Museum in Merikia Tunnel
  • Visit Palaiokastro, the remains of the older castle
  • Sailing will enjoy touring around Leros Island by boat
  • Hiking routes: Take the route from Platanos village towards the Byzantine castle of Panagia (Virgin Mary) or Panteli Castle (10th or 11th c); or explore the surroundings from Lakki to Xirokampos (to the south), from Lakki to Patella Hill, and from Lakki to Partheni (to the north)
  • Visit Panteli village
  • Visit Agios Isidoros: A picturesque church built on an islet
  • Taste “Patsavouropita”, the local version of Greek yogurt cake
  • Visit the picture-perfect country chapel of Panagia Kavouradena
